The wedding of Debbie & Robbie holds such emotions for us all as it was one of the last weddings we covered in March 2020. The journey started long before March though as we met Debbie and her Mother at a wedding show at Formby Hall a year earlier. From there, our relationship formed and we had the honour of covering their wedding photography along with wedding cars, Candy Cart & DJ Jukebox! We basically moved our studio and belongings to Merrydale Manor for the day!
Debbie was kind enough to sit down and answer some of our questions regarding other services and suppliers she used on the day and how they came about choosing Merrydale Manor.
My hair was done by Jane Martin. Jane is no longer a hairdresser, but has been my hairdresser since I was 11, so there was really no one else who I would have ever let near my hair on my wedding day! Jane did my hair, my Mum's hair and the hair of my 4 bridesmaids. She came to Mum and Dad's house at 6am so literally worked non-stop until it was time to go to the church. I had two hair trials prior to the wedding to make sure we got it right and I absolutely loved it. I Really cannot thank Jane enough.
My Make-up was done by Jessica Mooney. I am not one for getting my make-up professionally done normally as I am very specific and like to do my own! But Jess came highly recommended and did an amazing job. She seemed to just get me from the moment we met at my trial and did an amazing job. Jess even provided a bridal pack on the day of my wedding with some essentials for on the day, and it really was a god send! I really would recommend Jess to any future brides.
My shoes were Jimmy Choo.. because was there ever any other option!
I chose Natalie Ann Brides for my wedding dress. I went to a few dress shops and nothing compared to Natalie Ann. Natalie is amazing and offers such an amazing service, making brides feel at home from the second they walk into the shop. I always said I wanted the store assistant to pick a dress for me to try on..Natalie picked a dress and I was 10 seconds away from telling her to put it back..but I tried it on and straight away my Mum and I knew it was the one for me!! My dress was perfect, I felt like a real life Princess and loved the whole experience from start to finish. My wedding dress was Essence of Australia.
The Bridesmaids dresses were from JJsHouse. I ordered from this online retailer as my bridesmaids and I liked the dresses. The sizes came up small, but once we got the sizing right, the dresses fitted perfectly and looked amazing on the day. I would definitely recommend this online store as shipping was on time and returns easy enough.
Suit Hire was from Groom Warrington. I had a few issues with Groom in the beginning due to miscommunication on their part. But in the end, they offered a fantastic service and were very attentive throughout the whole buildup to our wedding. The boys looked great in their tails and really fitted in with our church wedding.
Our wedding rings were from Ernest Jones and Vera Wang. Robbie has a gold Ernest Jones ring and I have a Vera Wang engagement ring and wedding ring to match (also from Ernest Jones). I love my Vera Wang rings and there was never any other option for me!! Ernest Jones Chester is where we got our wedding rings from and they were lovely, helping us to pick our rings. I knew exactly what I wanted, but Robbie was different and needed help as wearing jewellery isn't usually for him!!
Our Wedding Cake was made by Julie Tinsley (the Groom's Mum). Julie makes lovely cakes and there was never anyone else who we would have wanted to make and design our wedding cake. We had an amazing 5 tier cake that looked fantastic and fitted in with the theme of our wedding.
Table Decorations - Amore Flowers Widnes for the flowers in the fish bowls. Then all other decorations were my own vision (mirrored plates, fish bowls, crystals and wedding favours of miniature gin/jager and cake pops designed by Julie Tinsley).
Luminate events provided the light up dancefloor which I couldn't not have! Evolutionary Events provided the Love Lights, Post Box and Table plan/selfie mirror. Luminate events were very attentive whenever I had any queries. Evolutionary events were fantastic over the table plan and selfie mirror, personalising this to suit our travel theme, really can't recommend Mike and the team enough.
Apart from the DJ Juekbox we hired, we also hired a band called Agent Smith through Function Central and they were fantastic. I have had so many people say that when they get married, they will be booking Agent Smith as they were so good and really got the crowd going!!
Then there was obviously yourselves who we used for photography, cars, sweet cart and Juke Box DJ. Really can't thank you all enough for everything that you did for us, both on the day and during the buildup to our wedding. From the first time my Mum and I met you at Formby Hall's wedding fair, I knew that we had to have you as our photographers!
I always dreamed of getting married at St Bede's Church in Widnes, which is the same church where my parents and my grandparents got married. Robbie and I chose Merrydale Manor as we fell in love with it from the second we first stepped onto the grounds. The team at Merrydale, especially Kirsty made our day perfect and were amazing from the day that we turned up over an hour late for our first viewing, to the day after our wedding helping us to pack up. Nothing was ever too much trouble and Kirsty and the team helped to give us the fairytale that we had always dreamed of.
